Okay. For my paper, I wrote about how marriage equality is important to finally allowing same-sex parents with children to be a secure-and-protected-by-laws family. Love is important to creating a family, but so are the rights handed out under the term of “marriage.”
I was thinking I would have a poster campaign for my advocacy project. There are many famous gay and lesbian people with families and I wanted to persist with this thought that marriage is important to a family because of the legalities involved.
I figured I would have a few posters, all generally set up the same way with a vivid picture of the family, description of the famous people and their careers and then say that they’re dads/moms/families. Here’s a broad example, without specific placement/fonts/colors- just a general thought of the info to be included.
It gets tricky because a lot of famous people who have kids are already married.
Is this too confusing? How can I make it more clear? Do you have any better ideas on how I can incorporate families and the importance of redefining marriage?
SARAH- Do I have to stick with the whole family thing? Can I make it more general and about LGBTQA rights?
